	The manpage aepconf(5) states that the maximum_filename_length
	field only applies to newly created files.  However, when
	doing an aede on an existing project (with directory names
	longer than 14 chars), Aegis complains that a path element is
	too long.

	Looking at the source code, you recheck filename lengths when
	the config file changes, which seems fair enough.  I guess
	this is basically a documentation error.

	When running Aegis 2.2.D058, compiled for Solaris 2.3, the
	paging facility does not seem to work properly within xterms.
	If $LINES is set, it works fine, but using the TIOGWINSZ ioctl
	doesn't seem to work.

	Using Aegis 2.1, the pages were still paged to 24 lines, but
	$PAGER (more) was still using the correct number of lines.  In
	Aegis 2.2, $LINES is set by Aegis before it calls $PAGER, thus
	the pager is forced to use that screen size.

	Fundamentally, it seems that the ioctl() code to get the
	window size in option.c is not being compiled in.  If I
	#include <termios.h> it seems to fix the problem.

DESCRIPTION
	Tonight I upgraded both Aegis (to 2.2) and Cook (to 1.6) on
	our SCO ODT 3.0 box. Cook built without any problems. The only
	non-standard action was to include LIBS=-lsocket to the
	configure commandline. (I also added this library to Aegis'
	configure.)

	While building Aegis, the only problem I had was SCO choking
	on the final compilation... cc couldn't pass all commandline-
	parameters (the .o files) to the linker. I fixed this problem
	by building intermediate libraries.

	time.

	3. The addition of the field pushed the project state file to
	a staggering 33 fields, requiring the reworking of the way

	NULL pointers is now explaited, requiring flags only for

	 Christian F. Goetze <c-goetze@u-aizu.ac.jp> writes: "I
	recently had an interesting situation. I was automatically
	integrating a change in one window, and I tried to pass a
	review in another window. Both operations happened to be on
	the same change (because I forgot the -p option in the
	"aerpass" command). I watched how the message "waiting for
	change lock" got sent back and forth between the two
	windows... "

	I designed the locking to (theoretically) avoid problems like
	this. The dining philosophers problem (project lock, change
	lock, user lock, build lock, multiple processes wanting
	combinations of 2 or more) is solved by using a single
	"permission to lock" lock.  But while typing this I realize
	there *is* a race, which needs to be solved by a random
	backoff, rather than the minimum delay currently implemented.

	The race is: once the master lock is obtained, the process
	then attempts to grab all the locks it wants.  If it can get
	them, it releases the master lock.  If it can't get them all,
	it gives all but one back (the change lock, in your example)
	*and* releases the master lock and waits on the change lock
	(rather than waking up once a second and trying again).	 Once
	the change lock becomes available, it is *released* and the
	cycle starts again.  Random backoff (a small number of
	seconds) would fix it, I think, i.e. combine the current
	strategic waiting and polling.

	This change also places project attribute suggestions in the
	notification shell scripts, and fixes a bug which provented
	the review-fail email script from working.

	This change also modifies the heuristic for detecting symbolic
	link loops - the old one kept getting false hits.

DESCRIPTION
	add code to slow aegis down during the tests.  Many sites with
	very fast computers are observing test failures due to the
	file timestamps.  This change adds an AEGIS_THROTTLE
	environment variable, specifying the number of seconds to
	throttle by.  Calls to os_throttle will be strategically
	placed in the code, and the tests will all set the AEGIS_
	THROTTLE environment variable.
